Saccharomyces Boulardii
Saccharomyces boulardii has been demonstrated to promote gastrointestinal health by increasing the levels of secretory IgA (sIgA). sIgA is an immunoglobulin found in the gastrointestinal tract as well as in the body’s mucosal secretions. Maintenance of healthy sIgA levels is necessary to support immune health, especially in the GI tract, which is continuously exposed to viruses and foreign bacteria.
For a probiotic to be effective, the microorganisms must have characteristics that allow them to withstand the natural host defenses. These include resistance to transit through the gastrointestinal tract and the capacity to grow and proliferate at temperatures found in the human gut. This Saccharomyces boulardii formulation is acid-resistant, proven to survive high temperatures, and resists transit through the intestines. Each freeze-dried capsule contains 5 billion CFUs of the probiotic yeast. The formula is free of lactose, and the probiotics are strain-verified by genotyping to ensure purity and maximum efficacy.
